I am easily rankled by seeing Christmas items/images prior to Thanksgiving, but alas I am now a purveyor of such. This is an image I just finished this morning for a Holiday Show in December.
I am still in shock from the holiday decor out in the stores myself ...but there is something comforting about it. This illustration is wonderful! I wish I could hang it on my wall.I love th lighting...and the cute characters.
Great work, Andy. Will you use this for a Christmas mailer too? What's the show? I know what you mean about the premature Christmas stuff. It showed up in the stores around here after Halloween!
Great illustration, Andy. I just stumbled onto your blog, and remembered---hey, I know this guy! What's you been up to lately. Working on children's book. Anyway, keep up the good work!
This is super cute, makes me think Christmas when I was a kid, oh wait I'm Jewish. Either way it's great, and I look forward to your next post, it's been too long.
These little guys must be latch-key kids, huh? Where are their parents? I love their determination, though. I bet they don't wear their bike helmets when they ride in the 'hood. I can see a couple of them in the 2018 version of the X-Games.
I love the picture, especially the rusty ladder. That has tetanus shot written all over it.
The parents are definitely in the other room on this one. I always try to be fairly cognizant of safety issues for kids unless the scene/action is so silly that it's unlikely to occur (which I hope is the case here). But things are so PC these days that I would rather have a publisher tell me to soften things up on the safety front, then start overdoing it myself.

How very cute! Nice work! Christmas is the most cheerful time of year. At least for me it is, anyway. :-)
