WHICH ONE DO YOU PREFER?--hey it took 3rd place! Not too shabby

Two illustrations I am actually happy with... each for the same theme: "Many Voices". Which one do I go with?? The 'Many Vises' design with the teacher/student was the first one I cooked up but I felt it was maybe a bit too obtuse a concept?... so, I then conjured up the more generic but hopefully still fun dinosaur poster. Please cast your vote on the right -->

I vote dinosaur.

Andy,
I love them both but something about the dino poster hits me in the head, heart and funny bone. That said, the dino targets younger readers and the vices targets mg.
Can't wait to see which you choose.
Congrats,
jill

Hey Andy,
I love the vises one but think it is a little obtuse for the young market. However, let's talk as I'd love to get a copy of the vise one.

I think the dinosaur is a better poster. The other is a better illustration.

I vote Dinos. I love the colors and how the characters fill the page. I also think it might express the idea a bit better. Good luck!

Go with the dino poster. I think kids under the age of 10 might not get the flip on "many vices".

You mentioned it is for SCBWI, so adults would be the target, right? Even so, I definitely think the dinosaur one works best.

Though I love the idea of many vises (or vices) for some other project . . . greeting card?? Spell check commentary?? Or . . .

I love the vices! But then decided maybe that's just because I saw it first. Love the dinos too! What to do!?
Yeah, guess if I had to pick, I'd pick the dino one. Love them both though!

i vote dinosaurs with vices...smokin', drinkin', goin' to the track...on second thought, i like your dinosaur poster.

Hey Andy, while they are both cute, I like the Vices one better. It's just funnier and I love the expressions. Would love to know where I can get a copy.

had to go with the dinos!

Dinosaurs get my vote. It works better as a poster (composition, impact) and I like the simplicity in the message - the voices/vices thing takes a second to 'get'. Great work!

As always, you've got two great ideas! I'd go with Many Vices.. I know my fourth and fifth graders would get it and some younger with a little help! But maybe you're targeting a very young audience?

They are both great, but I just can't resist the dinos ... their grins are just too much!

both are great, but I agree, the vises might be a bit too constricting an idea for a wide audience!

Hmm... I prefer the vises. The character design is great and I their expressions a hoot. The concept is perhaps "challenging" but I think that makes it more interesting. Bonus points for being smart-alecky.

But you can never go wrong with cute dinos!

They are both fabulous Andy. I think the dino concept for this assignment is even more of a winner.

The first is cute, but the dino has a powerful message for both parents and young readers.

I prefer the vises, but I'm a big pun lover! The dino's are probably more appropriate for the project...

Andy, the dinosaur poster conveys diversity well, so I'd vote for that one.

If the idea is to celebrate diversity, the dinos win. But the vises poster is clever and well-illustrated. Certainly could be used in another context.

Dinos make more sense...Good stuff.

Dinos get my vote. They might eat me otherwise. Vices made me guffaw, though and is a VERY classroom experience!

Ash immediately chose the "three-horn" one, but she is four! I like the dinos too!

They are both nice, but I voted for the Dinos.

First poster was more interesting to read; but the one below is more visually captivating. See you at the NESCBWI! :)

I'd go with Many Vices...It's much funnier. Plus as a kid into tools and spent a ton of time in the garage, not so much time spent with Dinosaurs.
